Privacy Policy

Tool Scout AI is operated by RDCA Marketing ("we", "us"), a business based in Texas, United States.
This policy explains what we collect, why, who it goes to, and how to get it removed. It is written to be read, not to be impenetrable.
This website is intended for users in the United States only. We do not direct our services to people outside the US and do not knowingly collect data from them.
What we collect
When you use the Bottleneck Finder:
- Your answers to the assessment questions
- Your email address, if you choose to enter it
- The result we generate for you
- Optionally, your business type and roughly what a customer is worth to you, if you answer those two questions at the end
- A one-way scrambled version of your IP address, used only to stop the tool being abused. We cannot recover your IP address from it.
When you browse the site:
- Standard analytics data through Google Analytics — pages viewed, how you arrived, approximate location by region, device type, and which links you clicked
When you join our email list:
- Your email address
- Which assessment result you received, so we can send you a link to it
- Standard email engagement data — whether messages were opened or clicked
We do not collect payment information. We do not ask for your name, address or phone number. We do not collect sensitive personal data as defined under Texas law, and we never sell personal data.
Why we collect it
To give you your result. The assessment cannot work without your answers.
To send you a copy of your plan and a link you can return to or share.
To improve the tool. Seeing which bottlenecks come up most, and which kinds of business have which problems, is how we decide what to build and write next. This is always looked at in aggregate.
To send you occasional emails about software we've tested, if you gave us your email. Every one has an unsubscribe link.
To understand what's working on the site, through analytics.
Who your data goes to
We use four services. Each one receives only what it needs.
Anthropic — your assessment answers and the diagnosis are sent to Anthropic's Claude API, which writes your personalised plan. Your email address is never sent. Anthropic processes this to return the plan and, under their commercial terms, does not use it to train their models.
Supabase — stores your answers, your result and your email address, on servers in the United States.
MailerLite — stores your email address and sends our emails, if you gave us your email.
Google Analytics — receives anonymous usage data about your visit. It does not receive your answers, your result or your email address.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with anyone beyond the four services above.
Affiliate links
We earn a commission when you buy through some of the links on this site, at no extra cost to you. Those links take you through our own address first — for example toolscoutai.co/go/squibb — which records that the click happened and then forwards you to the company.
We only recommend software we believe is worth using, and we say what each tool does badly as well as what it does well. The Bottleneck Finder recommends nothing at all for most outcomes, because most problems are not solved by buying something.
Once you land on another company's site, their privacy policy applies, not ours. We have no control over what they collect.
Cookies and browser storage
Google Analytics sets cookies to tell repeat visits from new ones and to see which pages lead where. You can block these in your browser settings or with a browser extension, and the site will work normally without them.
While you're taking the assessment, your answers are also held temporarily in your own browser, so that leaving the page and coming back doesn't lose your progress. That copy never leaves your device, is cleared when you close the tab, and is cleared once your results are shown. It's separate from the copy we store, which is covered above.
We do not use advertising cookies and we do not run retargeting ads.
How long we keep it
Assessment results — kept indefinitely, so the link to your result keeps working and so we can see long-term patterns. Ask and we'll delete yours.
Email addresses — kept until you unsubscribe. Unsubscribing removes you from our list.
Analytics data — kept according to Google Analytics' own retention settings, currently 14 months.
Your choices
Write to hello@toolscoutai.co and we will:
- Tell you what we hold about you
- Correct anything wrong
- Delete your assessment and your email address
- Remove you from the email list
We'll respond within 30 days. There's no form and no account to log into — an email is enough.
You can also unsubscribe from any email using the link at the bottom of it, which takes effect immediately.
Your saved result link
Your result is stored at a web address containing a random code, like toolscoutai.co/bottleneck-finder/r/Kp7mW2xRvN4q. That address is not listed anywhere, not indexed by search engines, and cannot be guessed.
Anyone you send it to can read your result. That is deliberate — it's meant to be shareable with a colleague. Bear it in mind before you post it somewhere public.
Children
This site is for people running or working in businesses. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. Material changes will be mentioned in an email to our list.
